DISCOGRAPHY

HALF UNDER THE COVERS (2021)

“This album did not start out as an album.

I was working with Marc Intravaia, Kim McLean, Mattie Mills, and EveSelis at various times on the song “An Island, A City, and A Ship Long Gone.” I asked Grant Glibert to add bass to a demo version I had recorded on my own. His bass made this mellow song more of a rocker and it had reached a point where we all thought it would be cool to record it. Marc said, “Why don’t we record two versions — the mellow approach and a rocker?”

“OK, sure that sounds fun.”

Then we decided that while we had the musicians in the studio we should do a cover.

This continued until we ended up with the album you see in front of you.

Enjoy!

Love this blues song, been playing it for 50 years!

I had a long history with Catalina Island, including being fired as head ticket seller for refusing to oversell the SS Catalina.

Doesn’t everyone have a childhood couch that invokes memories?

An angry rock song. The “you” is plural.

A great Randy Travis song. My go-to country karaoke, sung from Kona to Nashville.

For my family and friends. Each time I hear it, I think of you.

Another angry rock song. Liars don’t win.

To Beth, on our wedding day and always.

See #2… just mellow.

A fun song, an alt-sea chanty!

OPEN THE KIMONO (2014)

“Why make this album?”

These songs have been tucked inside my head rattling around, bugging me, and needed to come out. So, it was time to open the kimono and get them recorded. This is my starting point.

Enjoy!

It was Jesus or me: she chose Jesus.

A country song with no truck, belt buckle, dog, or rodeo.

Just a sweet song with special words for Beth.

I was angry, I wrote this song, I felt better.

Tried to choose one, ended up with none.

If you have it, you should share it.

For Linda and Elliot on their wedding day.

I don’t fight: easy to say, harder to do.

Everything is really great at first.

You never forget your first song you ever wrote.

Steamship, firing, disarray; do the right thing.
